ABOUT IMAGINe Me
Rooted is where magic happens for girls and young women who are aging out of Connecticut's foster care system! This 4–6 month transitional living program helps them turn life's challenges into stepping stones for independence through three incredible tracks:
TRACK ONE: TRANSITIONAL RESIDENTIAL (4–6 months)
Girls ages 16–24 move into a real home where they're known, supported, and equipped! Through intensive life skills programming, clinical support, and hands-on learning, they build the foundation they need to thrive in adulthood, from budgeting and job readiness to housing navigation and building their Family of caring adults who won't disappear when they age out.
TRACK TWO: COLLEGE BREAK HOUSING
Foster youth enrolled in college deserve a safe place to call home during academic breaks! Our dedicated college break beds ensure that young adults don't have to choose between their education and having somewhere to go when
campus housing closes.
TRACK THREE: EMERGENCY RESPITE (up to 72 hours)
When a teenage girl is removed from her home after hours and DCF can't find a foster placement, she needs somewhere safe to go RIGHT NOW. Our emergency respite bed means she has a warm welcome, a clean room, and caring adults, not a couch in an office or a night in crisis.
Every dollar raised through our Lemonade for Unashamed fundraiser brings us closer to purchasing the HOME that makes
all three tracks are possible!
